Neuropathy Treatment
Our Mission
Injection therapy using has emerged as a promising treatment for various peripheral neuropathies. This approach involves injecting a substance adjacent to peripheral nerves to alleviate neuropathic pain. The mechanism is thought to involve modulation of neurogenic inflammation, leading to reduced pain transmission.
A narrative review highlighted the effectiveness of D5W injections in treating peripheral entrapment neuropathies, noting significant pain relief and functional improvement in conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome. The review emphasized the potential of this therapy as a non-surgical alternative for patients with entrapment neuropathies.
Additionally, a case report detailed the successful use of ultrasound-guided perineural D5W injections in patients with superior cluneal nerve entrapment. Patients experienced significant pain reduction and improved function over a six-month follow-up period, suggesting the long-term efficacy of this treatment modality.
While these findings are encouraging, further high-quality, large-scale studies are necessary to fully establish the efficacy and safety of 5% dextrose injections for various types of neuropathy.
